Cramp Help!
Whether you're having PMS or menstrual pains, we all know it sucks!! Every body is different, so not all these techniques may help.
It's a good idea to understand the reason why we have cramps. Period cramps are caused by prostaglandins (say: pross-tuh-GLAN-dinz), chemicals a girl's body produces to make the muscles of the uterus contract.
Some ways to help cramps
Taking a pain reliever (use as directed)
Give your stomach a massage
Lying down
Mild exercise/stretching
Warm bath
Heating pad
Hot water bottle
Just sleep (or try)
Reducing spicy foods
Reducing caffeine (soda,pop,coffee)
Drink tea (red raspberry leaf tea is known for curing cramps)
Deep breathing, relax
Try to distract yourself
Eating healthy
The way you eat may effect your cramps. Those who follow the food guide
and eat a healthy amount of good food a day, may find their cramps less painful.
Those who eat fatty processed foods with high sugar may experience more
